Hans Kandlbauer
Received his MS in Mechanical Engineering in 1976 from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. After joining the Institute of Thermodynamics for one year he left for the airline industry to be trained as an airline pilot. Beside flying 25 years for Swissair he worked as a performance engineer for the company. Emphasising continous education let him attend various courses at the Boeing Aircraft Company, the National Test Pilot School at Mojave CA, the Cranfield University and the University of Kansas. Since 20 years he is teaching Principles of Flight (aerodynamics) and Flight Performance at the Swiss Aviation Training School and Horizon Swiss Flight Academy. He also acts as an engineer for the Experimental Aviation of Switzerland (EAS). Today you will find him working in the cockpit of an A-330 or A-340 and off-duty he is enjoying one of those magnificent sailplanes called DG-808B.
